Ryker's Baptism

Ryker was baptized on September 3rd by his daddy. What a wonderful day that was. I hope our family never forgets the special feelings we had. I am very proud of Ryker. He and his cousin Jacey decided earlier in the year to make a goal to read the entire Book of Mormon before there baptisms. We finished the day of his baptism. Ryker had a hard time understanding lots of it but he tried and there were many times that I didn't know if we could finish in time. But I am glad we did because we had wonderful discussions about the stories and both of our testimonies were strengthened. I am not only grateful that Brad could preform this sacred act but also that he took the time to prepare Ryker for this special event.

Grandpa and Grandma Nielson, Grandpa Sillito, and Greg and Brooke and there family all traveled to make it to his baptism. Thank -you. Also in attendance was Court and kids, Terrill and Heather and kids, Dave and Alea and kids, and Justin and Michelle and kids. His grandparents each bore there testimonies to Ryker which was very special and Conner gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and did a great job.



After the Baptism we had a lunch at the pond. It was a wonderful day!

Ryker's 8th Birthday

The 8th Birthday is a big birthday. Ryker decided to celebrate his Birthday with a party down at the pond with some friends after school. Thank goodness for the pond, I love that place. The kids had a wonderful time and ate junk food for a couple hours straight. Ryker requested nachos, candy and cake and ice- cream. I delivered. I am sure some of those boys went home with a stomach ache. The day ended up being a little cool but they still swam and got wet. I enrolled Courtney as well as my friend Emily to come help me. I am so glad I did they were such a big help. Ryker had a wonderful day and we are so happy he came to our family. He is a leader by nature and I know he was meant to be mine. I love him so much and am so proud of him.




He also started Scouts. Nothing is cooler than that when your an 8 year old boy.

1st Day of School

School started on August 24th. Ryker is in 3rd grade and Conner started Kindergarten. They both were excited to start and by now it has faded. Both boys are independent and don't feel like they need mom to help them every step of the way, that hurts a little but I am grateful they have confidence in them selves. Conner has afternoon kindergarten and I take him to school and he walks home with Ryker. Conner really just wanted to walk himself to school the 1st day and find his own way to his class, I refused. It is always hard to let that kindergartner go for the first time. When they got home from school Ryker was thrilled because his teacher told him they won't have homework everyday. Conner said his day was fine but got in trouble a few times for getting out of line or touching the pencils ( I could of called that). He has a thinking rug in his class that you have to sit on if you make a bad choice in class. Every day when he gets home I ask if he has been on it, he has told me no everyday. When my dad was here visiting for Ryker's baptism he asked Conner about the thinking rug and Conner said, " I have never been on it, but have been wondering what it would feel like so I may give it a try sometime." I wouldn't put it past him. Bryn has been a little bored at home but loves to just be with mom and sometimes dad at lunch time.

Summer recap

Well summer went way too fast. I will miss having the kids home and the freedom summer brings, but I am ready for a schedule again. I think most moms feel this way. Our summer was pretty low key. I am not too mobile or have much energy so the kids and I hung around here lots. I had lots of good intentions but would quickly realize I physically couldn't do all I did last summer. This pregnancy is all together different and much harder. I had to remind myself daily that this is temporary and life will resume to normal, well not normal, but kinda of. I have control issues and this pregnancy has already taught me to let a few things go(still working hard on that). Well anyway for journaling sake, here is a few highlights of this summer:
*went to the pond with friends and swam (many times)
*Had a Sillito Family reunion over 4th of July (everyone came)
*Played with cousins
*went to Rexburg Rapids for Taylee's B-day
*went to SLC for Nathans baby blessing
*celebrated 10th anniversary

The results are in...

One of the benefits to be carrying twins is having an ultrasound every appointment, which meant at 17 weeks they could tell us the genders of the babies. I didn't really prepare myself for the results though. My appointment was on Tuesday and we found out we are having two BOYS! WOW! I told Brad that if I didn't already have a daughter I may have cried. But I am actually feeling at peace with this( more and more as the days pass). I know how to do boys, yes they may eat a lot, but hey Brad's a farmer, we have an endless supply of potatoes. Ryker and Conner were hoping for boys or a least one. The ultrasound tech said she is now unsure if they are fraternal or identical. I guess if the egg spits with in the first 4 days of conception it can have its own sac (which my babies do). We won't know if they are or not until after they are born. I am not to concerned with it. I am glad these boys will have a full time playmate and someone to get in trouble with because I know it will happen.

The BIG news

Yes it is BIG news. Everything about this is BIG, including on how BIG I am going to get. It is true I am pregnant! Hooray! We have all been (well Brad and I, because the kids didn't know for quite awhile) really excited. We felt so good about the timing of this baby and felt like this was probably going to be my last pregnancy- due to health and c-sections. I coaxed Brad into going to my 1st appointment with me. I don't think he has gone since Ryker. He really didn't see a need to go, but I pushed it and he came. I am so glad he did. He showed up right as they were starting my ultrasound. The ultrasound technician says with a big smile on her face,"Are you ready to see your babies?" "Yes, wait hold on there, DID YOU SAY BABIES?" That is right folks I am having TWINS! What a shocker. I don't think Brad would have believed me if he wasn't there himself. He thought she was doing some mirror image thing on the baby to make it look like two. He was in denial for a little while. We know they are fraternal twins and am 12 weeks along. My due date was right after Potato harvest ends, so we were both happy, then they go on to tell us I will probably go a lot earlier than that. So these babies may come in the thick of things around here. The kids have known for about a month now and we have finally let them tell. So now everyone in Rexburg knows. Ryker shared the news with his whole class today. The kids are thrilled. Brad and I are finally recovering a little from the shock and go through spurts of excitement and terror. I told you I was going to get BIG!!!!

Brynlee's 2nd Birthday (way back in Jan)

Life seems to have gotten away from me and I did not want to forgot to journal Bryn's 2nd birthday. We have really loved having Brynlee in our family. She is the Queen Bee around here. She loves playing kitchen and got a really cute play kitchen from Grama. She also was spoiled rotten by Aunts and Mom and Dad with lots of fun play food and appliances and an adorable apron. We had family over for cake and ice-cream. Happy Birthday sweet Girl. We love You!!
